Day Ninety-Eight: Summer Solstice, Father's Day, William's Half Birthday

William is now five and a half years old. The days are as long as they're going to get. Fathers everywhere were celebrated. I chatted with my father for a little while in the morning. I got him a ukulele for father's day and I can't wait until we can be together so we can have a uke jam sesh. Jeremy and William went fishing in the afternoon, but Taiya could not be persuaded to make it a family affair. Overall it was a slow-paced day, exactly what Jeremy wanted. We talked for a long time after dinner on the porch in the bright evening solstice sunlight.

Some pictures from the day:

Black Swallowtail Butterfly Caterpillar feasting on my dill.

Day lily from below.

Our first ripe blueberry.

An actual daisy.

William, at the very end of the day, decided he wanted to sleep out on the porch with Jeremy, so, they did. Daisy the Dog was beside herself with joy. They watched the fireflies and slept outside the whole night.
