Day Seventy-Five: Speed Boost
Speed Boost is the name William gave the lizard we temporarily took into our home today. Jeremy caught him for the kids to admire. I kept calling him Speed Square. He was a stripey little thing that we enjoyed looking at up close. His long fingers, his little sides pumping in and out with each breath. "Do you want to hold him, Mommy?" William asked eagerly. "Um, thanks, but I just like looking at lizards, I'm not a big fan of touching them," was my reply. I know I shouldn't be squeamish about these things, but I really didn't want to touch it. Instead of touching Speed Boost, I demonstrated setting boundaries. That's good too, right? We gave him leaves and dead flies and air, and watched him watching us. Before bed, they let him go in William's sage plant. Thanks for visiting, Speed Boost. See you out there.
